Sandra Cotterell has been renovating old chairs. sofas and stools since 1989. She specialises in re-seating using natural materials - cane, rush, willow, rope, Danish cord and seagrass. Frame restoration is also undertaken.

Chairs for restoration come mainly from private houses as well as from museums, hotels and churches. New seats can be made to customers' individual design requirements in all materials.

The Chair Workshop is located in the old Yorkshire Dales town of Sedbergh, surounded by the Howgill Fells (moorland hills) and within easy reach of the English Lake District. Sedbergh is five miles from junction 37 on the M6 motorway.
